Overview

Mt. Everest the highest mountain in the world is situated in the Khumbu region of Nepal. Besides the glorious visage of the Everest, one gets to experience Sherpa culture and hospitality at its best. Beginning with a spectacular flight to Lukla (2,800m), the scenic trails wind through fragrant rhododendron and pine forests, Buddhist monasteries and landscape varying from temperate to snowline regions. From Thyangboche, views of Mt. Everest (8,850m). Lhotse (8,516m), Nuptse (7,855m), Ama Dablam (6,812m), Cho-Oyu (8,201m) from here are simply awe-inspiring.

Itinerary

Arrival at Tribhuvan International airport in Kathmandu, Nepal Meeting and assistance at the airport You will be welcomed with Khada (Tibetan silk scarf) or flower garland outside the arrival terminal gate by our representative. You will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu

Morning, half-day tour of old Kathmandu city, its Durbar square, myriad of temples including the temple residence of the Living Goddess, Kumari. Proceed on to Swoyambhunath Stupa. Swoyambhunath is a Buddhist Stupa said to be more than 2000 years old, is perched on a hillock 77 meters above the valley floor and offering a bird’s eye view of the Kathmandu City. Afternoon, tour of Bhaktapur, the "City of Devotees" and the home of medieval art and architecture, a classic showcase of medieval Nepalese town life. Walk through the brick paved Palace Square overlooked by the Palace of the 55 windows with its imposing Golden Gate, The Pashupatinath Temple built as a replica of the original in Kathmandu overlooked by the finely carved Chyasalin Mandap in the centre. Walk to the Nyatapole Temple the five storied Pagoda, the tallest temple in the country guarded by a series of mythical animals and deities overlooking the Bhairav temple dedicated to the Tantric deity of Bhairav. Overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu

Morning, transfer to the domestic airport and fly to Lukla. Trek to Phakding crossing the Tharo Koshi River on a local-style suspension bridge. Overnight at the local lodge/tea house in Phakding.

Today, Commence trek to Namche Bazaar following the valley of the Dudh Koshi River via Jorsale. Overnight at the local lodge/tea house in Namche Bazar.

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Thyangboche (3870m) weaves in and out of side valleys, making small ups and downs, to the teashops of Kenjoma, and joins the trail from Khumjung just before a collection of Mani stones. Overnight at the local lodge/tea house in Thyangboche.

Morning, visit the popular Thyangboche monastery, main monastery of the Khumbu area. Later, commence trek from Thyangboche to Khumjung. Overnight at the local lodge/tea house in Khumjung.

Ascent till Khunde to see the Hillary Hospital From here descent to Namche Bazaar and continue trek down to Monjo. Overnight at the local lodges/tea house in Monjo.

Today, retrace your route back to the transit village of Lukla. Overnight at the local lodges/tea house in Lukla.

Morning, after breakfast walk to Lukla airport and fly back to Kathmandu Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day is free. Overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu.

Free till departure. Transfer to the airport to connect the international flight.
