Overview

This tour includes Kathmandu valley with its three main cities of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur focusing on temples and Buddhists shrines and monasteries. Nepal is the Holy Land of Lord Pashupatinath and Gautam Buddha, where the Hindus and Buddhists have coexisted for centuries in total harmony. Gautam Buddha, the ‘light of Asia’, was born in Lumbini in Nepal’s southern plains, which makes Nepal a scared pilgrimage destination for all Buddhists as well. The Temple of Pashupatinath is Nepal’s most scared Hindu shrine and one of the four most important sites in the world for Shiva worshippers. Namoboudha is the sacred Buddhist shrine is located at south-east and couple hours drive from Kathmandu where it is believed that anyone who worships here properly will get free from all kinds of evil spirits and their wills can be fulfilled.

Itinerary

Arrival at Tribhuvan International airport in Kathmandu, Nepal Meeting and assistance at the airport You will be welcomed with Khada (Tibetan silk scarf) or flower garland outside the arrival terminal gate by our representative. You will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu.

Morning, half-day tour of old Kathmandu city, its Durbar square, myriad of temples including the temple residence of the Living Goddess, Kumari. Proceed on to Swoyambhunath Stupa. Swoyambhunath is a Buddhist Stupa said to be more than 2000 years old, is perched on a hillock 77 meters above the valley floor and offering a bird’s eye view of the Kathmandu City. Afternoon, a tour of Patan, also known as Lalitpur or the "city of beauty" is the oldest city in the valley. A great center both of the Newari Buddhist religion and of traditional arts & crafts with 136 bahals or courtyards and 55 major temples. Overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu.

Morning, a tour of Budhanilkantha temple, Hindu pilgrimages dedicated to Lord Vishnu. In this temple a deity of Lord Vishnu who is also known as Narayan is located on Jalasayana which means sitting on an Ananta Sea. Proceed on to Kopan Monastery, a center of Mahayana Buddhism. The center has been responsible for introducing thousands to Buddha's teaching through meditation courses, lectures & retreats. Later, a tour of Boudhanath Stupa, the colossal Stupa in Nepal set on concentric ascending terraces in the powerful pattern of a Mandala. Overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu.

Morning, drive to Namoboudha temple, a holy site for the Buddhist. A popular legend relates that the Lord Buddha in his previous incarnation had offered his own flesh to save a starving tigress and her cubs from the imminent death. Later, visit Bhaktapur, the "City of Devotees" and the home of medieval art and architecture, a classic showcase of medieval Nepalese town life. Walk through the brick-paved Palace Square overlooked by the Palace of the 55 windows with its imposing Golden Gate, The Pashupatinath Temple built as a replica of the original in Kathmandu overlooked by the finely carved Chyasalin Mandap in the centre. Walk to the Nyatapole Temple the five-storied Pagoda, the tallest temple in the country guarded by a series of mythical animals and deities overlooking the Bhairav temple dedicated to the Tantric deity of Bhairav. Overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu.

Morning, transfer to the domestic airport to connect the flight to Bhairahawa. Upon arrival in Bhairahawa, transfer to your hotel in Lumbini. Later, visit the scared Lumbini garden, Mayadevi temple, pushkarni pond, Ramagram etc. Overnight at your hotel in Lumbini.

Excursion of Tilaurakot, the childhood home of Lord Buddha, lies 25 kms west of Lumbini. Visit the ancient ruins of Tilaurakot. Rest of the day is free. Overnight at your hotel in Lumbini.

Morning, transfer to Bhairahawa airport and fly back to Kathmandu Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to your hotel. Later, sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath temple, the temple of Lord Shiva situated on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River. Pashupatinath, with a tiered golden roof and silver doors, is famous for its superb architecture Overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu.

Free till departure. Transfer to the airport to connect the international flight.
